How To Create Your Dream Closet
Design a System That Fits Your Needs
No matter what size closet you are working with, think about how you want to sort and store your clothing, accessories, and shoes.
The most common design solutions is to organize item type and by color. My personal favorite is the first one, sorting by items, it allows me to see all my options. It makes getting ready in the morning simple and easy.
I like to hang all my dresses together, then skirts, pants, skirts, button down shirts, and then T shirts. I put all my sweaters in drawers. I have a bookcase to display all my shoes and my dresser top makes a great place for my jewelry and accessory presentation.
Keep Items Accessible
Make your closet easy by making items accessible. When you can find what you’re looking for in the morning it makes the day so much better. Keep all your handbags and purses neatly displayed on decorative hooks on a wall or displayed in a built in cubby. Accessory neatly arranged in a drawer and a valet rod to show off a new dress.
Make Your New Closet Somewhere You Want To Spend Time
Your own Happy Place, a tranquil, relaxing space, that you look forward to hanging out in. Maybe some art work or fun wallpaper added to the back of a bookcase. A relaxing seating area and don’t forget lighting. Decorative overhead lights, LEDs on shelves, and lamps.
Staging Area
Todays custom closet designs are arranging items so even a small closet can have a staging area. They are the perfect place to arrange outfits and feel great about yourself.
